The Action Council governs SRRT. Composed of task force and state affiliate representatives and ten persons elected by SRRT membership,
Action Council holds open meetings at annual and midwinter ALA conferences. SRRT's Action Council passes resolutions that can affect the
direction the profession takes on issues of social justice and plans programs for ALA conferences that can raise awareness, change
minds, and improve the quality of information on social issues in libraries everywhere. SRRT members are encouraged to run for Action
Council positions. SRRT officers are chosen by Action Council from among its own members every three years, or more frequently if an
